Description
It’s a medium-sized raptor with rounded tail. Adults have white head and breast and overall brick brown plumage. Juveniles have dark brownish plumage with paler head and white patches under the wings. Wingspan is 3.6-4.1 feet. Males are larger other than look alike.
It’s an opportunistic scavenger. Mainly feeds on small mammals, small birds, crabs, frogs, snakes, small reptiles, fish, insects etc.
It is seen throughout Indian subcontinent, southeast Asia, Southern China, Australia.
