Description
Males have smart black bibs, bright rufous napes and brighter black, white and brown markings. Their wings are patterned with buffs and brown. Underparts are pale pearly-grey.
Female and juveniles are pale brown and grey. They have got light eyebrows.
They are well adapted in human habitation and live in both urban and rural environment. They feed often by forming flocks with other species of birds. Their food consist of seed of grains and weeds and also whatever they can get mainly in urban habitats.
They are native to most of Europe and throughout Asia.
