Carbon Reduction for  Sustainable Development

Human activities in the name of development emit about 29 billion tons of Carbon Di-oxide per year, while volcanoes emit between 0.2-0.3 billion tons. At present, half of the CO2 released from the burning of fossil fuels remains in the atmosphere and is not absorbed by vegetation and marine water. CO2is the primary greenhouse gas emitted through human activities. CO2 is naturally present in the atmosphere as part of the Earth’s Carbon cycle (natural circulation of Carbon is in the atmosphere, oceans, soil, plants, and animals).

ভুট্টার রঙ ও ইতিহাস

আমরা রঙিন হতে চাই কাউকে রাঙাতে পছন্দ করি। আর কথায় আছে মনে রঙ থাকলে সব কাজে নাকি একাগ্রচিত্তে মনোনিবেশ করা যায়, যার ফলাফলও হয় রঙিন। আমাদের দেশে এক সময় ভুট্টা খুবই অবহেলিত একটি ফসল ছিল,কেউ এর চাষাবাদ করতো কিনা জানিনা, হয়ত বয়োজেষ্ট দের জিজ্ঞেস করলে এর সঠিক উত্তর পাওয়া যাবে। তবে আজকাল আমাদের দেশে মানুষের খাদ্য ও পশু খাদ্য হিসেবে এর জনপ্রিয়তা বেড়েছে ফলে চাষাবাদও বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে এতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই।

Green economy is the Economics of the world concerning work, human needs, the Earth’s materials, and how they mesh most harmoniously with each other.  It is primarily about the “usage-value” and not the “exchange-value”; about the quality and not the quantity; about the regeneration of populations, communities, and ecosystems and not about the accumulation of money or materials.
