Field trip: ULAB & NSSB at JU

Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) in collaboration with NSSB organized a field trip for the students of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh at Jahnagirnagar University campus. 37 Students along with Samiya A Selim, Associate Prof. and Director, CSD, Joy Bhowmik, Lecturer cum Research Associate, CSD, Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, Chairman, NSSB, renowned nature writer Mokaram Hossain, Aflatun Kaeser Zilany, Corporate Member, NSSB started their journey at 9 am from ULAB campus.

Prof. Dr. Monwar Hossain, Chairman, Department of Zoology, JU welcomed the team in his department. A small discussion on nature and natural resources, nature conservation and field work strategy took place in the classroom of Zoology Dept. Md. Nurul Amin, Chief Horticulturist of Biological faculty of JU also joined the discussion. Students started their filed work with introduction with some common trees in front of Zolology department. Then Prof. Monwar guided the students in visit of butterfly park. Students visited fisheries research center. Prof. Monwar described the research process inside the center. After completion of fisheries center visit renowned wildlife biologist and tiger specialist Prof. Dr. Monirul H. Khan joined with the team. He talked to the students about his work and some common feature of nature. Then Dr. Monwar and Dr. Monirul took the student to biological research room of Wazed Miah Science Research Centre and they described the functions of the instruments to students. Field trip came to an end with a delicious lunch at Bottola.
