Giant penguin about the size of a grown man waddled around New Zealand about 59 million years ago
“Fish feel pain and suffer just like mammals and birds.”
In 2004, a keen fossil hunter stumbled upon the bones of something that have even baffled scientists. Now it has been revealed that it is of a species of Penguin that would have stood as tall as a man!
It’s been named “Kumimanu biceae”, a literal monster (Kumimanu means “monster bird” in Māori) that would have measured around 5 feet 10 inches or 1.77 meters at maximum swimming length and weighed around 100 kilograms (220 pounds).
